About Bart

Bart was born and raised in Southern California, where he learned to appreciate the outdoors and art. He graduated from the University of Southern California and then studied at the Art Center in Pasadena.

Eager to encourage emerging artists, Bart has taught in the graduate studies program at the University of Texas, and Art Students League in New York City. He was a former board member of the American Society of Portrait Artists and helped found the Portrait Society of America.

Bart's paintings hang in State Capitals and Federal courtrooms, and both private and corporate collections. He has exhibited in solo and group shows in galleries and museums across the United States and Canada, including the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, GA; California Art Club; Oil Painters of America; National Oil & Acrylic Painters Association; Hudson Valley Art Association.

Among his prominent collectors are United States Senators William Armstrong, and Jesse Helms, U.S. Congressman, Nick Rahall, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Secretary of State, General Colin Powell.

About Running Men

I have always loved the great art and design of Asian culture. I found a wonderful antique vase of two men running with a horse jumping over them, maybe that’s why the men were running. I just had to paint it.
