About Margaret
Margaret Larlham is a plein air and studio artist with accomplished inter-disciplinary arts career holding Master’s Circle status in pastel medium:
A history of modern art course undertaken at Natal University in South Africa in 1968 had a profound influence on me. Enveloped in a darkened room by (then rare) slide projections of the paintings of European and American masters did much to bring a small town South African girl to awareness of the wide world out there and awakened my interest, drive and commitment to the arts.
Since completing my Master of Arts at Natal University, I have consistently sought opportunities to improve my artistic skills in many workshops, most recently at the Florence Academy of Art and with international plein air groups in Berlin and Croatia. I enjoyed a rich career in the arts, as a dancer, choreographer, director and designer at San Diego State University and Natal University in Durban, South Africa. At the same time I have exhibited for 20 years at Santa Ysabel Art Gallery and regionally with The San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild and the Artist Alliance of the Oceanside Museum of Art.
