About Kevin Daly

I have always been a creative person but for the first half of my life that side of me was silent even though the pilot light was still on.  I had worked as a software engineer, medical doctor, and raised a family in the first half of my adult life.  Working as an emergency physician is tough and many colleagues get burned out.  I started painting again at first as a counter balance to the stress of working in the ER. I use the pilot light analogy because it was like someone turned the burner on when it came to creating art.  I found myself creating a new painting almost every week.  I experimented with different techniques I would read about or just make up myself. I found joy in painting that I hadn’t anticipated.  Over the next few years I plan on reducing my time in my medical practice even further and dedicating myself more to my art.

About Ville de l'amour

I wanted to create a piece specifically for this show.  When I think of Paris I think of love and romance.  At the same time though I have seen images of the opposite over the past several years coming from Paris and many other parts of the world.  I wanted to create a piece that visualized love conquering hate.  I thought what would be better than adversaries enjoying their city together peacefully as children would.  Thus I created a piece depicting yellow vest protesters and police doing just that, with a touch of humor.
