JUROR: Robin Douglas Robin moved full time to Oceanside in 2015 from her distinguished career at the University of Illinois. As an art professor for 36 years, she has experience in many materials and techniques. She served as associate director of the school of art & design, art education chair, faculty senator, chancellors’ honors faculty, served on the board of the Spurlock Museum, Krannert Art Museum Council, and the Urbana Arts Council. She was ranked excellent by her students, awarded teaching awards, and is still considered a distinguished faculty member. Her commissioned artwork is in private collections, offices, hotels, and university buildings. Since moving to California, Robin has been involved in the surrounding communities offering art workshops, lectures, both in person and online, group trips to art museums, and has served on the Oceanside Museum of Art Board of Directors. Exhibition Title: TRANSITIONS
Words affiliated with Transitions include: Change, move, passage, transformation, conversion, adaptation, adjustment, alteration, changeover, metamorphosis, shift, switch, progression, evolution. (Note that your work will be judged on the merits of the art and not by relationship to the title. This is not a “theme” show.)
ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to SDMAAG members only. All 2D media are eligible. Unfortunately, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts cannot display free-standing sculptures and will not display nudes. Wall-mounted sculptures weighing less than 60 lbs are acceptable. No videos.
Two-dimensional art shall not exceed 48 inches in width and 72 inches in height, including the frame. Gallery-wrapped artwork will be accepted if edges are painted.
Artwork weight may not exceed 60 lbs.
OVERSIZED WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
ALL WORK MUST BE FOR SALE.
Submitted work must be original and not previously exhibited in an Artists Guild
exhibition.
NO REPRODUCTIONS. No copies of other artists’ works will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The Award of Excellence:
1st Place - $500.
2nd Place - $300.
3rd Place - $200.

SHIPPING: Shipping and pre-show hand delivery Instructions will be provided to accepted artists in their acceptance confirmation email. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist.
Sunday, November 7 - Reception for artists from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Open to the public.
Monday, November 29 - PICK UP ARTWORK.
Pick up Artwork between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Unclaimed work will become the property of the Artists Guild 30 days after the close of the show and may be disposed of at the Artist Guild’s discretion.
Friday, December 31 - CLOSE OF ONLINE SHOW.
ENTRY FEE
Entry fees are non-refundable.
$30 application fee for one image plus $5 for each additional image - maximum four (4) images.
Entry fees must be paid by the entry deadline. Acceptance of artwork is not guaranteed.

You will be asked to log in to your Entry Thingy account, or to create a new one, to continue the entry process
CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE & AGREEMENTS
The following statements constitute an agreement between the artist and The San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild. Any requirements of the exhibit not fulfilled will result in disqualification. No exceptions will be made to these rules.
Artwork must be offered for sale at the price listed on the entry form. The Artists Guild will retain a 30% commission on all artwork sold. All sales have to go through the Artists Guild – no private sales are permitted. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Work that does not match the image submitted, or which is unprofessionally presented, will not be installed.
Two-dimensional art must be professionally presented, framed, wired and ready to hang. Acetate coverings, brackets, quick-frames, or any type of device leaving exposed glass or plexiglas will not be accepted. The Artists Guild will exclude any entry that presents unusual installation problems, or is improperly framed.
IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS:
Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection and marketing purposes for the exhibition only. By entering the competition, all artists grant SDMAAG the right to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the gallery web site for promotional purposes. SDMAAG retains no copyrights to artists’ work.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Each artist must carry his/her own insurance. Though care will be taken in handling all entries, SDMAAG will not be responsible for loss or damage of any kind for any entry submitted. Submitting art to this exhibit constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist to the conditions set forth in this prospectus. SDMAAG may rescind the right of hanging or displaying any art misrepresented or unsuitably presented.
