Artist's Bio

Always intrigued with world around me, I drew and painted from a young age. After having  to produce some watercolors for a design class, I became fascinated with the process. In 1991 I took my first watercolor class at the Athenaeum in La Jolla, then took various workshops and classes through the Athenaeum and the San Diego Watercolor Society.

There have been numerous group shows I have participated in plus several solo shows.

I have been a member of the San Diego Watercolor Society until recently and a member of the Artists' Guild since 2000, serving as president that year.

Artist's Statement

Each step taken in life is part of a path to an understanding on exploration, a contemplation, a discovery. Each step impacts the next, broadening one's scope and honing one's skills.

This is also what art is to me. Each painting draws me into another realm, whether in the use of color, design, mood or materials. Each painting is influenced by the previous work and spurs the imagination for the next one.

My goals in art are to never become static in any aspect of the creative process, to follow instincts that lead the brush, and to always make a new discovery in the process.
