  Dear Artists,

  We invite you to participate in our upcoming
  
  Life Model Drawing Session
  
  at the San Diego Museum of Art.
  

   Community Open Studio Museum School Classroom
  
  

  Tuesday, October 20, 1-3 PM
  

  Come engage in figure drawing in the SDMA Museum Art Studio! Exercise and develop your drawing skills through observation of a live, clothed model while exploring your creativity. Drawing materials will be provided or you can bring your own. No oil paints or solvents please!

  These events are open to the public, so feel free to bring your friends.

  Registration is limited to 20 people per session. 
  

  Please meet us outside the Museum School classroom door,
  

  (by the coffee cart in the patio by the Prado Restaurant)

  The group will continue exploring an exhibition with the theme "Myths." Julie Weaverling, who will lead this project, proposed a 6-8 months process where participants will explore various myths, including Greek myths, family myths, and personal myths, bringing them into contemporary contexts rather than creating literal representations.

  For the November 18 meeting, participants are encouraged to dig deeper into |the questions discussed during the previous meetings:
  

  • ·       Why this myth? 
  • ·        What does it mean to me? 
  • ·        What does it mean now? 
  • ·        What is underneath the story?
  • ·        What might I be trying to understand through it?

  For our November 18 meeting, participants are also encouraged to  show us something you experimented with, or a starting piece that you have ideas about how to change to push it further. Maybe you have had to research some technical issue for your idea.  Whatever it is, big or small, barely started or fairly well formed, please share.
