On a trip to northern Arizona, I stopped at Page, Arizona near Lake Powell. Much of the area is on the Navajo Indian Reservation. There are many slot canyons in the area. A slot canyon has a narrow opening at its top letting in light and usually opens up wider at the bottom.

This image was taken with my Nikon F100 film camera on slide film. This image was taken in the  Upper Antelope Canyon. In order to get into the canyon, I had to take a guided tour with a Navajo guide. I took the photographers' tour, which included about 15 photographers. We all carried our tripods and camera equipment. The unusual light and the reddish sandstone makes this a photographer's dream for taking photos. Because there were many other tourists in the canyon when I was there, we had to wait for the other groups to leave an area before we could take our photographs. Antelope Canyon has become a popular spot for amateur as well as professional photographs. I believe this is a different view of the canyon from others I've seen.

To give my photographs a quality akin to a fine oil painting, I print them on medium-weight artist quality mat canvas and ship them ready for stretching and framing. The inks used to make the print are light fast and permanent and should last for well over 100 years. I spray a protective coating over the canvas to ensure that the image will have a long lifetime. This photograph is available in other sizes and on other media to suit your individual tastes and needs by contacting me with the email above.
